Because his was a voice I had never heard before, but I wanted to hear it my whole life! Because he had a laugh I had never heard before, I wanted to hear it my whole life! His arms opened doors to places I’ve never been before, but I wanted to stay there forever.
Luna Lovegood, a girl who gave off an aura of distinct dottiness has been intriguing us since so many years now.
The positive and quirky soul has given us a lot of life lessons on various aspects. But when it comes to dealing with our insecurities, I personally look up to her. J.K Rowling gave life to the character and made us restore our faith in the imperfections and how they are the ones that make us quite perfect. How these imperfections define us, and make us mesmerizing and unique in our own different ways!
First of all, to be very honest, there is no such thing as imperfections! It’s all a scandal based upon certain people’s view of the society. A false perception of some sort! Unless you are mentally unstable and go around killing people like some psychopath, you’re not imperfect. Rather the definition of perfection is a subjective thing. What’s up with the cynicism attached to perfection and imperfections anyway!?
Anyway, Luna Lovegood a soul so pure, taught us not only to be weird in our amazing ways but also taught us to be brave.
- Luna has been brave since I’ve known her. She was among the first ones to sign up for “The Dumberlore’s army” She gave her all in and never stopped!
- She owned up what she wore. She had a quirky, fun and a colourful dressing sense and did not give a damn as to what people thought of her. She lacked the regard to thi k of what people.might think about the way she dressed, whether it’s about her lion costume or about her quirky glasses, she always stood out.
- Luna had a unique way of looking at things. She looked at people as if they were mildly interesting television shows. Laughed out so hard she had hold herself together when Ron mimicked Malfoy, or maybe just believe in things her mother said – “Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the way we expect”
- People called her Loony Lovegood, she never let it bother her or phase her out. Instead she was a free spirit, wasn’t chained to such “worldly things” For her being different was a good thing.
- She always stood up for her friends. Always! She always was, has and will be loyal for the people around her. No matter what our circle is, big or small, being loyal in difficult situations is the bravest thing we can do.
- What was so great about Luna was that for her, appearances are not everything. Everything great about her was hidden under her “surface” and her big glasses! She believed that people are so much more than just appearances.
The happy, pure soul, who has been through a lot gives us life lessons we can develop in ourselves to lead our lives better! Everyone knows what she has been through and yet she is some of the bravest people I have known!
P.S. We are all as sane as Luna is!
And then you wake up suddenly from your slumber with a loud cracking thunderstorms. The green plants out in your patio swinging with joy, as if they are saying they’ve never been this happy!
Believe me, nothing looks better than those happy green plants in such a weather. Nothing smells as good as the ground on which fresh rain drops are falling, or as some people want to name it in a fancy way “Petrichor”
Life is pretty monotonous, yes! You wake up, get ready, have breakfast, go and work and then come back, back into your PJs and then sleep. And repeat. Every single day. But certain things like these, the happy plants, the freshness in the air, the orange hue that sky holds sometimes during evenings, the star lit sky, or maybe even clouds making weird shapes, these are certain things that go unappreciated. We don’t pay heed to them, as if they are monotonous and not us!
Yes, working is important but missing out on small things that can bring a smile to your face are as important. We can not always be cynical with rains, saying that they create a mess out there is just totally insulting the beauty that the rains bring with them. Imagine how important the rains are not only to our weather conditions but also to the farmers or the animals or I don’t know, what not! Trust me when I say this, there is nothing monotonous in rains. Go out stand in your balconies for a minute, let the rain drops fall onto you. And close your eyes and just take it all in. The beauty, the essence, the mesmerizing effect they have on you. It is totally worth it. And if that’s not enough, go for a drive in rains, pass by the less worthy areas of your society, look at the kids playing in the rain, splashing through puddles, people enjoying tea at a roadside tea seller. Just go and live your life. Go and enjoy your life. And not just breathe and go around your daily chores like a robot.
These are somethings your salary won’t offer you. It’s the nature giving it you, free of cost! Avail the benefits. Thank the nature. Love the nature. Just live!
‘Planning your life leads to success’
Most of us have heard of this phrase which apparently asks us to meticulously plan stuff out for ourselves, so that we in future can lead our lives the way we planned it a decade or maybe 2 decades back.
When we were all kids, we used to plan our careers based on our favorite Cartoon maybe, or based on a toy we were obsessed with. Changing our plans with our differing interest levels.
And then life happens, we grow up, start planning our lives meticulously leading to milestones. ‘by the end of this year, I will have achieved this goal’ ‘I’ll be a success by the end of this year’
But who knows if things are actually going to work out for you. What if you plan a lot of stuff for yourself, strategize everything, have a blueprint for everything. Basically have a master plan or a road map to success and suddenly one thing implodes! Boom! And there are your plans, lying there in front of you crumpled.
What’s the next thing we are supposed to do? In front of the remains of what once were our plans? Life often leads you to crossroads, to continue with your now “crumpled” plans, uncertain of success or to give up!? And yes, some of us find it difficult to answer that question too!
An animated movie I saw recently gave me an answer to this question. “Just go with the flow.” Stop working on things that you have no clue as to when you’ll reach a success point. Stop wasting your time dreading the future. Stop over thinking. Stop over analysing. Stop rethinking the “crumpled” plans. Just basically stop with all the nonsensical thoughts which are lowering us in life.
Just breathe! It helps. Go have a cup of coffee with the one you love. Go on a drive. Go have beer with your friends. Order a pizza. Sit in front of the TV, watch your favorite show. Wear quirky clothes every once in a while. Read. Do anything rather than feeling miserable. Because being miserable isn’t gonna lead you anywhere.
Taking up new things might. Take up whatever comes your way. Leave it to destiny sometimes. Just go with the flow when you reach a dead end!
P.S. Dead ends suck. I know. But they are ends, they got to end somewhere!
